These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of SALATTO, a service for managing home and
small-farm hydroponic growing, including the SALATTO web application, any SALATTO mobile
applications and the SALATTO APIs (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Dmitry Dmitriev ("SALATTO",
"we", "us"). Please read these Terms carefully. How we handle personal data is described in our
Privacy Policy, and how to cancel a paid plan or get a refund in our
Refunds and Cancellation policy; both form part of these Terms.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If
you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a business or
another person, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on their behalf, and
"you" includes them.
2. Definitions
Account - your personal sign-in to the Service, identified by your username or email
address, or by a sign-in provider such as Google or LINE.
Farm - a workspace in the Service where growing is recorded: boxes, plants, varieties,
nutrient solutions, measurements, history and settings.
Owner - the person responsible for a Farm. A Farm always has exactly one Owner.
Member - a person the Owner or an administrator of a Farm has given access to it, with
a role and permissions set by the Farm.
Farm Data - everything you and the Members of your Farm enter into the Service.
3. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement under the law that
applies to you. The Service is not directed to children under 16.
4. Your account and its security
Give accurate information when you create an Account and keep your email address current:
we use it for sign-in, access recovery and important notices, including notices under
sections 13 and 14.
Keep your password and sign-in methods confidential. You are responsible for everything done
through your Account.
If you suspect that someone else has access to your Account, change your password at once.
Changing or resetting your password ends all other signed-in sessions of your Account.
Then tell us through the feedback form.
If you sign in with a provider such as Google or LINE, access to your Account also depends on
your account with that provider.
5. Farms, owners and members
The person who creates a Farm becomes its Owner. The Owner may transfer ownership to another
Member who has the administrator role and an email address on file.
The Owner and the Farm's administrators decide who is a Member, which role and permissions
each Member has, and may remove Members. Removing a Member ends that person's access to the
Farm; their past actions stay in the Farm's history under their name.
The Owner is responsible for the Farm: for the Members it admits, for how they use the Farm,
and for making sure they accept these Terms.
Records in the Farm's history show which Member performed each action. Do not share one
Account between several people.
6. Your data
Farm Data belongs to you and the Owner of the Farm. You give us a limited, worldwide,
non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process and display Farm Data only as needed to provide,
secure and improve the Service for you, and to comply with law. This licence ends when the Farm
Data is deleted, subject to the retention periods in section 15 and in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the lawfulness of the Farm Data you enter and for having the right to
enter it. Do not enter other people's personal data unless you are entitled to do so.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
use the Service for anything unlawful, or to grow, record or promote anything that is illegal
where you or the Farm are located;
try to access Accounts or Farms that are not yours, or data you have not been given access
to;
interfere with, overload or disrupt the Service, or probe, scan or test its security without
our written permission;
use bots, scripts or other automated means to create Accounts, send requests in bulk or
collect data from the Service, except through APIs we document for that purpose;
get around the limits of the Service or of your plan, including by splitting one farm
operation across several free Accounts or Farms;
upload malicious code, or use the feedback form or support channels to send spam, abuse or
misleading information;
copy, resell or offer the Service to others as your own, or reverse engineer it except where
the law expressly allows this.
8. Plans, prices and payments
Free plan. The Free plan costs nothing and needs no payment card. Some features belong
only to the paid Pro plan.
Who sells Pro. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com.
Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service
inquiries and handles returns. When you buy Pro, the
Paddle Buyer Terms also apply.
Price and billing period. Pro is a subscription paid monthly or yearly. The current
prices are shown in the pricing section of our home page. Before you pay,
the checkout shows the plan, the billing period and the final price in your currency. You are
never charged without your explicit consent.
Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each paid
period, for a period of the same length, and the next payment is taken on the renewal date,
until you cancel.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time, from your subscription settings in the Service
or at paddle.net. Pro stays active until the end of the period
you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Your Farm then moves to the Free plan:
all Farm Data stays, and what you have already set up keeps working, but Pro features can no
longer be used to create or change things.
Refunds. You can get a full refund of any payment within 14 days of that payment, as
described in our Refunds and Cancellation policy.
Failed renewal. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle tries to take it again. If it still
fails, your Farm moves to the Free plan as described above.
Price changes. If we change the price of Pro, we will tell you by email or in the
Service before it applies to you. A new price applies from your next billing period, and you
can cancel before then.
Trials and promotions. If we offer a trial or a promotional price, its terms are shown
to you before you accept it.
Limits. A Farm may create only a limited number of certain items, for example boxes,
box types, nutrient solutions and plant varieties. Limits protect the Service for everyone; when
you reach one, the Service tells you.
We may change the features of each plan and the limits, and limits may come to differ between
plans. If a change reduces what a paid plan you have bought includes, we will tell you in
advance and it will apply from your next billing period.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be
uninterrupted, timely or error-free, and we do not offer a guaranteed level of availability. We
may take the Service down for maintenance, and we may add, change or remove features. Where a
change materially reduces what you rely on, we will try to tell you in advance.
10. Support
You can reach us through the feedback form, which also opens without signing in. We answer as soon as we
reasonably can, but we do not promise a response time. Some answers may be prepared with the help
of an automated assistant that uses our product documentation; such answers may be incomplete or
wrong, and you can always ask for a person to look at your request.
11. Growing information
The Service helps you record and plan your growing. Calculations, reports, hints and help
articles are general information, not professional agronomic, food-safety or financial advice.
Results depend on conditions we do not control. You are responsible for your growing decisions
and for the safety of anything you grow, sell or eat.
12. Deleting your farm or account
The Owner may delete a Farm at any time from the Farm's settings, confirming with the Farm's
name. Deleting a Farm deletes all its Farm Data and the Accounts of its Members.
A Member may delete their own Account at any time. The Owner must first transfer ownership
or delete the Farm.
For you, deletion cannot be undone in the Service. We keep a copy of a deleted Farm for a
limited time only so that we can restore it in the cases described in section 15.
13. Inactive farms
Keeping unused Farms costs resources and holds personal data for no purpose. We may therefore
delete a Farm that has not been used for 3 months in a row. A Farm counts as used when any
of its Members signs in to it or changes its data; only viewing without signing in again does
not count.
Before deleting an inactive Farm, we send a notice to the Owner's email address. The Farm is
deleted no earlier than 30 days after the notice.
To keep the Farm, it is enough to sign in to it during those 30 days. The planned deletion is
then cancelled automatically. You can also write to us through the feedback form.
For Farms created before these Terms were first published, the 3 months are counted from
the date of that publication.
14. Suspension and deletion by us
We may suspend access to a Farm or an Account, or delete it, if:
you or the Farm's Members materially or repeatedly breach these Terms;
a competent authority, or a platform provider through which the Service is offered (for
example, Apple, Google or LINE), requires it under law or under rules that bind us;
the Farm or Account is used for unlawful activity, or to harm the Service or other users;
we are otherwise required to do so by law.
Before deleting, we normally send a notice to the Owner's email address stating the reason and
give at least 30 days to respond or to fix the problem. We may act without prior notice
where the law or an authority requires it, where notice would allow unlawful activity to continue,
or where there is a serious risk to the Service or to other people. In every case we record the
reason for the deletion and, where the law allows, tell the Owner what it was.
15. Restoring a deleted farm
For 30 days after any Farm is deleted, we keep a copy of it together with its Members'
Accounts. Within that time, if a Farm was deleted by mistake, without its Owner's knowledge, or by
our error, the Owner may ask us to restore it, and we may restore it at our discretion. When we
restore a Farm because someone else had taken over an Account, we may reset its Members'
passwords and end their sessions. After 30 days the copy is deleted automatically and the Farm
can no longer be restored. Backups of our database are kept longer, as described in the Privacy
Policy, but are used only to recover the Service from failures, not to restore individual Farms.
16. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, texts and the SALATTO name, belongs to us or our
licensors. These Terms give you the right to use the Service as offered, not any other right to
it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
17. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party services such as sign-in providers, email delivery, bot
protection, cloud hosting and, for paid plans, Paddle, listed in the Privacy Policy. Their own terms apply to your use of
them, and we are not responsible for services we do not control.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without
warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for
a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a
consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
19. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or
consequential damages, or for lost crops, lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, arising from
your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the
Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months
before the claim arose, or USD 50. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited
by law, such as liability for intentional misconduct.
20. Indemnity
If you use the Service in breach of these Terms or of the law, you agree to compensate us for
reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from third-party claims
caused by that use, to the extent permitted by law.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the Service
at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless a shorter period is required by law or the
change is needed urgently for security. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version.
If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms; if
you do not accept them, you may stop using the Service and delete your Farm or Account.
22. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us through the feedback form so that we can try
to resolve the matter informally.
The courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in
connection with these Terms.
23. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours
to a successor that continues to operate the Service, and will tell you if we do.
These Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version prevails in
case of any difference.
24. Contact
Questions about these Terms, requests to restore a Farm, and reports of abuse: please use the
feedback form. It opens without signing in and is protected against automated submissions.
Questions about a payment, an invoice or a refund are handled by Paddle: find your purchase at
paddle.net, or write to us through the feedback form and we will
pass your question on.
